A little while ago we created this absolutely amazing Japanese Akoya Pearl and Diamond necklace. It was a surprise gift to a bride on her wedding day. Lucky lady!

Here is the piece she received:

This stunner features 23 natural color Japanese Akoya cultured pearls measuring approximately 8.5mm accented with 90 diamonds weighing 7.33 carats (t.d.w.), set in 18k white gold. Length 16 inches.

American Pearl and Diamond Bridal Necklace

Looks great Nicole!

You wear it well!

I'm so happy you had a chance to intercept the piece and photograph it for the viewers of Pearl-Education.com. This necklace was intricate and very time consuming to make. Its completely hand made.

Absolutely stunning piece. It certainly does add a nice variety to the traditional uniform white cultured pearl necklace or the larger south sea necklace one sees so often in pearl bridal jewelry. The amazing aspect of this pearl necklace is within the ingenuity of the moving parts. The pearl and diamond sections are intelligently linked to each and offer enough movement through the links such that the necklace is comfortable to wear, while being stationary yet has enough motion to allow the diamonds to scintillate and the pearls to reflect. In todays marketplace, given where gold prices are, this is a bold expensive look.

I saw this piece come through our office as well, and was pleasantly surprised to see the bride choosing such a distinctive necklace. It keeps things interesting for us, to have customers who really enjoy traditional classic pieces as well as customers who look for ways to individualize and make items their own.

Pearl and Diamond Necklace Wedding Photos

I was lucky enough to get an email from the customer who ordered this magnificent piece for his wife. He was looking for an appraisal which we gladly sent to him right after the wedding. I asked him to send Pearl-Education.com a photo of the pearl and diamond necklace on his wife from the wedding and this is what he emailed us. I took the liberty of posting it myself as some of our pearl customers have difficulty posting images to the forum:
